Stags Reject Clucas Bid

Mansfield are reported to have rejected a bid from an unnamed League One club for former Bull Sam Clucas.

Stags boss Paul Cox told the local press that he had rejected bids for Clucas and Ryan Tafazoli: “Both offers have been turned down ‘flat’. I don’t want to lose my best players and I’m not in the business of simply giving away players.

“It’s a positive in the sense that we’ve brought through two young players who are being coveted by clubs in higher leagues but we won’t roll over and let our players go, for what we feel, is little compensation.”

Clucas, 23, netted 13 times for the Stags in his first season at Field Mill and has one more year left on his deal.

Meanwhile, former Bulls loanee Paul Green has signed for Tamworth for the coming season. The 27 year old joins ex-Bulls Michael Townsend and Dan Preston at The Lamb for their return to Conf North.
