The Phantom Football Match?

Fans are doubting whether yesterday's game with Eagley FC actually took place.

A 'match report' has been put on Hereford United's official site, detailing only that the game went ahead without giving a scoreline or teamsheets. Every tweet from Eagley FC about the game has been deleted, as has the tweet from trialist Luis Morrison claiming a 16-0 victory.

There has been no apology from either club for the last minute move of the game to an 'undisclosed location', only citing 'last minute safety concerns'.

It was known early in the week that a good contingent of Bulls supporters, and fans of other teams supporting their plight, were to make the trip. HUST even made contact with Eagley on Monday to speak to their safety officer and Police liaison to try and ensure the game passed smoothly but never received a reply.

One group of supporters were stopped at Chorley services by Police, and dozens more had already set off on journeys before notice of the move was posted on social media. Fans vented their anger on social media, demanding apologies and compensation from both clubs for wasted petrol money.

With season tickets having gone on sale this week, who would risk purchasing one for a club that refuses to disclose even the most basic of information to their support?
