Bulls snap up Benbow
Conference club Hereford United, who are having to virtually re-build their squad for the new season, have added another newcomer to add to Crewe striker John Grant, according to thenon-leaguepaper.com
Director of Football Graham Turner is giving attacking midfielder Mark Benbow the chance to make the grade at Conference level after returning from Australia.
Benbow, 24, began his career with League of Wales outfit Newtown and also played for Rhayader Town in the same league.
In addition he turned out for the Bulls' former groundsharers Pegasus Juniors in the Hellenic League and in the Dr Martens League for Merthyr Tydfil, Worcester City, Bromsgrove Rovers and, last season, Redditch United before moving to Australia to play.

Turner signs two
HEREFORD United are poised to unveil two more new signings, according to today's Evening News
John Grant, a striker formerly with Crewe Alexandra, has agreed terms to come to Edgar Street on a free transfer.
Director of Football Graham Turner has also recruited a left-back from a League club, although he will not name him until his contract with his previous club expires next week.
Turner said of 20-year-old Grant: "He is quick, mobile and strong, and has played about 10 times for Crewe."

Regionalisation set to return?
A report on the Nationwide website says that Division Two and Three clubs are being urged to consider regionalisation by the latest financial report into the state of English football.
Financial consultants Deloitte and Touche have produced the report which concludes that 70 per cent of turnover is the 'comfort' level for expenditure on wages and their head of sport Gerry Boon believes regionalisation could help save clubs £100,000 a year.
"We raised this issue in 1997 but there was a lot of emotion of anger against it," said Boon.
"However, most of the other recommendations we made at the time have been implemented and people are now bringing it back on to the agenda.
"The issue is not about saving on travelling costs, it is about looking at ways to generate significantly more money.
"The games would generate more interest because there are more local derbies and more travelling fans.
"In 1997 we estimated that each club could gain an additional £50,000 a year if they regionalised the league. Now we are probably looking at £100,000."

Devlin linked with Bulls
Northwich Victoria midfielder Mark Devlin is attracting interest from other Nationwide Conference clubs, but Vics boss and former Hereford attacker Jimmy Quinn is hopeful the midfielder will stay.
Hereford United have been linked with the former Exeter and Stoke City schemer, but Quinn told the Northwich Guardian: "I think he wants to stay and hopefully we can sort something out."

Crozier backs move
The Football Association's chief executive Adam Crozier has backed the two-up, two-down movement between Division Three and the Conference.
Crozier said from England's Awaji Island World Cup base in Japan through thefa.com: "We are happy that the great effort that the FA has put into this process has paid off. This is good news for English football at all levels and it's a real bonus for fair play too.
"A lot of hard work from a lot of different people has gone into making this happen and we're delighted to have been able to help bring about this change."
Conference chief executive John Moules said: "For the supporters of Conference clubs and clubs across the country, this landmark decision brings their dreams to fruition."
Meanwhile, Steve Piearce, the former Hereford United attacker, has confirmed his move to Hednesford Town.
The ex-Halesowen striker signed a one-year deal with the Keys Park based side yesterday.

Wales secure three points
Wales have won their second match in the Unibond Four Nations Tournament, beating Scotland 2-1.
Hereford United's Tony James and Paul Parry featured in the match which puts Wales second in the table, two points behind the Republic of Ireland, on four points. The two meet in the final match. England have just two points, whilst Scotland have yet to open their account. The final games are played on Saturday.
After a slow start Wales played very good football in the second half of the match. They took the lead against Scotland in the 57-minute when Gary Lloyd scored direct from a free kick. Wales increased their lead in the 82-minute when Graham Evans, who had replaced Marc Lloyd-Williams scored following a very good move. Like in the England match Scotland scored their only goal in the third minute of injury time.
In tonight's other game, England lost 2-1 against Ireland, leaving the Irish needing just a draw from Saturday's game against Wales at Boston United, kick off 2pm, to win the championship. However, a Welsh win would see them take the Trophy. Only Wales or Ireland are still in with a shout of securing glory!

An attendance of just 404 turned out for the game which Wales led from the sixty sixth minute though Neil O'Brien. A Simon Weatherstone goal three minutes into added time equalised for the English.

Turner confirms Bentley interest
Hereford United chairman Graham Turner has confirmed that the Bulls have spoken to Telford United defender Jim Bentley.
Bentley's signature will be a coup for the Edgar Street club, as at least two other Football League clubs are thought to have discussed terms with him. Today's Shropshire Star said that a decision on Bentley's future is imminent.
United have yet to sign a player this summer, but lost Gavin Williams to Yeovil Town last week. "They made him an outstanding personal offer," said Turner, although it is thought that Hereford matched the contract financially.
Meanwhile, Halifax Town have been accepted to the Conference for next season following a meeting of officials on Friday.

Gav out - to Yeovil
Yeovil Town have confirmed that Hereford United attacker Gavin Williams has signed for the Huish Park club.
The 21 year old Welshman had been offered a new contract at Hereford, it is thought which 'matched' his terms at Yeovil. However, he has chosen a move away from Edgar Street.
United should receive a fee from Yeovil for the move as Williams is not eligible for a free transfer under the Bosman ruling.

Takeover bid confirmed
A supporters consortium has tabled a bid for Graham Turner's Hereford United shares.
Bulls chairman Turner confirmed that he received the offer, tabled by long standing supporter and BOLSA committee member Martin Watson.
BBC Hereford & Worcester report that the consortium has experience of aiding clubs in financial trouble, including Bournemouth and Chesterfield.
