They did not expect so many
Forest Green could not cope with both the Hereford team nor their supporters last night. Some 700 fans made the trip to the Lawn and, as well as giving massive support to the team, ate virtually everything in sight. Someone had not done their homework as it was surely obvious that after the Bulls win last Saturday there would a large contingent travelling. It is not a good ground for away supporters to watch the game either unless behind the goal as the outside "stand" does not rise far above the pitch making it very difficult for small or young Bulls fans to have much of a view. Most of us could not see the left corner area however tall!
That said Forest Green produce a 52 page programme which included an advert from Baylis Haines & Strange who also trade next door to Edgar Street. Even better F.G.R. have done a deal with the Waitrose supermarket chain for sponsorship. Quite a coup for a small club.
When one considers that Waitrose probably sell more "Hereford" beef than any other outlet in the U.K. and the Hereford cattle society is based in Hereford and Uniteds mascot is a Bull, have we missed out?
