A large police presence is expected at Aldershot on Sunday when Hereford United visit the Hampshire town. After trouble in the past mainly caused by local so-called fans, the police requested that the game was moved to Sunday as there is an FA Cup game on the South Coast on Saturday involving Southampton and Portsmouth which will require large numbers of police.
The events close to Edgar Street last Tuesday when there was some disorder will have kept police mindful of potential trouble. A couple of Hereford police are expected in Aldershot on Sunday.
The trouble last Tuesday included fighting in the cattle market, a man arrested after a window was smashed in the Kerry Arms, and damage to cars in Merton Meadow after the game.
According to the Hereford Times, police are studying CCTV footage from both before and after the game to identify possible offenders.
