One in and One out at the Rec

Aldershot have signed a defender but lost a striker this week.

Terry Brown, the Shots manager, announced late on Tuesday that he had signed experienced defender Tarkan Mustafa. The 31-year-old has agreed a deal until the end of next season with the Shots following his recent departure from financially troubled Hornchurch.

Mustafa has previous Conference experience with Dagenham, Doncaster, Kingstonian and Rushden and Diamonds, who he helped win the title in 2001.

However today comes news that Wycombe Wanderers have recalled striker Jonny Dixon from his loan spell at the Rec but there is some uncertainty whether he will play against Hereford on Sunday.

Dixon had been due to stay with the Shots for a further month. However, his goal scoring form of 9 goals in 12 appearances, including a hat trick at Gravesend at the weekend, has seen John Gorman recall the young striker early.

The Wycombe Wanderers Offical Site reports that manager John Gorman has said that he will be taking the 21 year-old striker with him to Shrewsbury on Saturday.

"Jonny's buzzing," Gorman said. "He's in contention for the game with Shrewsbury and he's someone else we've got available.

"Despite his recall, the 21 year old will remain faithful to Aldershot who had originally signed him on a two month loan.

"He's insisted that he wants to be honourable and wanted to play the next two games. I was willing to let him do that."
