Stamp to leave Chester

Chester City are expected to see two of their players leave for Conference clubs in the next day or two. Ian Rush needs to move the two on to other clubs to be able to sign a new striker according to the Chester Chronicle.

Suggestions on this site yesterday that Darryn Stamp might not move to Stevenage appear to be incorrect as his name is once again linked to the Hertfordshire club in the article. There is no mention of Hereford United.

Kevin Rapley is said to be heading to Forest Green Rovers.

Yesterday Chester manager Ian Rush said:" Darryn Stamp is just getting fit again and a number of clubs have expressed an interest in him, but I don't know if they'd be prepared to sign him until he is fully fit. And Forest Green Rovers boss Alan Lewer has been in touch to ask me about Kevin Rapley's availability, but a loan move is up to the player."

Meanwhile Wrexham Football Club is expected to be taken over within three weeks, according to various reports this morning, by a Surrey based consortium.

Finally, Gavin Williams, the former Hereford United player, has been selected for the Welsh Squad for their international against Hungary next month. Paul Parry is not in the squad because of injury.
