Semi-final hopes for Bulls

Hereford United play hosts to Hucknall Town in the F.A. Trophy quarter final tomorrow afternoon at Edgar Street. Hucknall, who are one league below United in the Conference North, will be no walkover for Hereford, as they have already disposed of Conference outfit Northwich Victoria in a previous round. The Bulls are expecting a tough game following the experience of the ties against Eastwood in the fifth round.

Hucknall are managed by Dean Barrick, who had a spell on loan at Edgar Street, from Doncaster Rovers, in the 2001-2002 season. Barrick's side lie 9th in the league, seven points adrift of the play off places but, similarly to the Bulls, have a couple of games in hand of those above them.

Hereford hope to have Jamie Pitman back after a three week lay off with a calf strain and Adam Stansfield, who came on in the closing stages against Tamworth, should be fit enough to start once again. Simon Travis was replaced soon after half time on Tuesday, but is expected to have recovered from his cut toe in time for the game. If not, Ryan Green is ready to deputise.

Rob Purdie missed out on Tuesday night due to a knee injury which was sustained against Morecambe last weekend. Graham Turner is hopeful that he will have recovered and be pressing for his place in the starting eleven once again. Following the poor performance in their last two outings, it is thought that Hereford may well make a couple of changes for this cup tie.

Hereford will be hopeful of a result on the day, as the last thing they need is a cup replay meaning further fixture backlog for the Bulls. The victors will not only place themselves in the semi-finals of the competition but will pocket £7,000 in prize money.
