This weekend in the Conference

With Hereford United and several other Conference clubs on Trophy duty this weekend, there are only six fixtures in the league.

Fourth placed Aldershot play at Canvey Island this evening and will be hoping to take all three points. However Canvey have drawn eight of their home games so far and the Shots away record is only average. It would suit the Bulls for Canvey to take the points but although this looks unlikely a draw is a possibility.

The top games tomorrow are between Barnet and Crawley and the visit of Accrington Stanley to Carlisle.

Leaders Barnet recently went through a lean spell but their home record is still the envy of every other Conference club except their visitors. They should pick-up three points from this encounter as Crawley, currently in eighth place, have only won three of their away fixtures.

Nineth placed Carlisle returned to winning ways last Tuesday with a 3-0 win over Leigh RMI but will find Accrington Stanley, who are in sixth position, different opposition. Ex-Hereford United striker David Brown is expected to be in the Stanley squad. A draw would probably suit the Bulls.

Morecambe, who still have a good chance of making the play-offs, entertain Dagenham and Redbridge. Manager Jimmy Harvey will be looking to continue his sides recent good run of results and take all three points.

Hereford United, currently seventh, could drop to ninth place if results go against them, but if Accrington (by more than one goal), Crawley and Carlisle lose, the Bulls will move up a place on goal difference.
