Boro sunk by Stansfield strike

Hereford United secured a 1-0 victory over Stevenage Borough at Broadhall Way this afternoon.

In a tense first half, either side were able to break the deadlock but ten minutes after the restart, Adam Stansfield put United ahead.

That proved to be enough for the Bulls, who jump into fifth place in the Nationwide Conference table.

Brian's full report will be online later.

Barnet failed to collect the title today, as they slumped to a 2-0 defeat at Northwich Victoria. Second-placed Carlisle United, who make the trip to Edgar Street on Tuesday, won 2-1 at Farnborough Town, but if United beat the Cumbrians on Tuesday, Barnet will be crowned champions.

Halifax Town come back from a goal down to hammer Leigh RMI 5-1, and lie third, while Aldershot Town stay fourth. Two points behind Hereford in sixth are Morecambe, who beat Scarborough 2-1, while Accrington Stanley are seventh after their 2-0 defeat against Crawley Town.
