Strong squad at Stevenage

Graham Turner, the Hereford United manager, has told the Worcester News that he thinks cool heads will be needed to overcome Stevenage tomorrow and that any more flashes of red-mist may damage their chances.

"We've had a good Easter. We said before and after the Morecambe game that we had to win our two games over Easter and could not afford any slip-ups.

"We got through both games quite comfortably in the end, scoring 10 goals and conceding none, despite the setback of having a player sent-off in both.

"The games were marred by stupid actions but we reacted positively. However, we can't allow this to happen again because teams will punish us.

"Our next two games against Stevenage and Carlisle are important. In our last seven games, we play five teams that are currently in and around the play-offs.

"Stevenage are one of the big spenders in the Conference, particularly with wages. They have got a strong squad of players, but I'm sure they will be a lot more concerned about us than we are about them."

Meanwhile Brian Smikle, who Graham Turner says is still available to play for Hereford United, did play for West Bromwich Albion reserves last night against Aston Villa.
