Best manager on a shoestring budget

Tomorrow morning BBC Radio Five Live is running a text poll to discover who is "The Best Manager on a Shoestring Budget".

There is little doubt that Graham Turner, the Hereford United manager, should be in the running for the title.

Since coming to Hereford he has only paid one small transfer fee, has had the run the club within the terms of a CVA, has sold countless players to keep the club afloat, and yet in the last two seasons come second in the Conference and into the Play-offs.

A win for Turner just before the second leg of the playoffs could just help confidence at the club.

To get Turner into the poll there needs to lots of texts and e-mails supporting him, then assuming he has plenty of support, there is expected to be a text vote of three managers who names have been put forward to decide the winner.

Radio Five Live can be contacted on 08700100500, or text 85058. E-mails on this subject to victoria@bbc.co.uk

This morning the text vote was about best away fans. As far as we are aware Hereford United wasn't even mentioned.
