Better display from Bulls

Hereford United drew two all with Wrexham this evening at Edgar Street. Jon Brady and Adam Stansfield put The Bulls two goals to the good before Wrexham fought back with goals in either half from Lee McEvilly and Levi Mackin. Hereford included trialist Andy Ferrell in the starting line up, Dean Beckwith and Andy Williams also started.

It took Brady just thirteen minutes to open the scoring after some good work from Andy Williams down the right, the ball fell nicely to Brady who sweetly hit a left foot volley past the keeper. Wrexham had half chances but it was Hereford who were looking more dangerous and it was two nil in the twenty-fifth minute. Brady was once again involved and his good cross from the right left Stansfield to head home from close range.

After going two down, Wrexham pushed forward with more determination, Walters got space in the box but his shot was saved by Bulls 'keeper Craig Mawson. Walters was in the thick of the action a couple of minutes later playing through Ferguson but Mawson came out quickly and closed down the shot. In the fourty-first minute, Wrexham's pressure paid off when the former Accrington striker Lee McEvilly scored from a free kick. His low shot from thirty yards gave Mawson no chance.

At half time Hereford made four changes, Danny Carey-Bertram replaced Andy Williams, trialist goalkeeper Clint Davies came on for Mawson, another trialist Graham Evans took Rob Purdie's place and Craig Stanley made way for Carl Jones.

Wrexham went out in search of an equaliser and defender Lawrence went close with his header going just over the bar from close range before midfielder Jones curled a low shot but 'keeper Davies was equal to it making a decent save.

Tony James replaced Ryan Green and youngster Sam Gwynne got a chance coming on for Alex Jeannin but despite the changes it was still Wrexham who were creating the better chances. Goalscorer Lee McEvilly shot just over from the edge of the area. In the seventieth minute, the Welsh side finally got the equaliser. Subistute Levi Mackin dipped a shot over 'keeper Davies from outside the area to make it two all.

Hereford made two more subs as they looked for the winning goal, goalscorers Stansfield and Brady were replaced by Tony Collins and Rees Smith. Graham Evans, a trialist striker went close on a number of occasions towards the end of the game, testing the sub Wrexham 'keeper Darmanin with a powerful shot and two headers.

A crowd of 634 saw an entertaining draw from which Graham Turner should take several pluses particulary with the performances of Beckwith, Brady and Ferrell.
