The three Hereford United supporters reached the half way stage of their tour of the 92 League clubs yesterday. They filed this report on the third day:
An early start saw us arrive at Roots Hall home to Southend United for 07:15 where the community department were busy setting up their own charity event, all the local taxi drivers were taking underprivileged kids to Clacton for the day, east on the A12 next stop Layer Road home of Colchester Utd where the groundsman met us at 08:30 to proudly show us his pitch!! On arriving at Portman Road we were met by Bluey the club mascot for a picture pitch side. From Sufflok to Norfolk arriving at Carrow Road, Norwich City met by Jeremy Goss for a picture presenting a signed ball inside the stadium. Off to the Posh, London Road signed ball presented by Mark Wright, big bazz was in a meeting.
Rushden & Diamonds next presented with a signed ball inside the impressive Nene Park, dropped down the A45 to Sixfields home to Northampton Town again picture pitch side.
Up the M1 and across M6 to Coventry City had to go to Highfield Road as new Stadium not quite ready, presented with signed match ball. Up the M69 arriving at the Walkers Stadium home to Leicester City and presented with goody bag, next stop Pride Park home to Derby County arrived here for 17:30 and presented with new signed shirt. Next stop Chesterfield Town were our signed ball was waiting in a bag behind the office!! Across to Mansfield Town ball is being posted to us. Down to Nottingham both sides of the Trent Notts County then Nottingham Forest. Long journey reaching Boston United for 21:30 with a signed ball waiting in the club house but no time for a cheeky beer as MK Dons was next arriving here for 23:00, had photo taken by a players girlfriend waiting for him to return from a game. 23:30 saw us arrive at Kenilworth Road home to Luton Town. It is now 00:10 heading north on M1 for overnight in Birmingham, we will be stopping for a brief photo at the new Coventry City Stadium before food and bed!! Bring on Thursday!!!
