John Trewick, interviewed on BBC Hereford and Worcester, suggested that one difference this coming season should be that there will be plenty of competition for places in the Hereford United team.
"I think we've got most positions covered. So if anybody has to drop out of the team for any particular reason, I think we can cover more or less every position with someone who is just as good.
"Last year, possibly we were one or two players short in that respect.
"Competition for places is going to be healthy. The players might argue that's not so good for them, but from the club's point of view it's fantastic."
Asked how the new faces were bedding in, the Hereford United coach said he thought they were doing very well.
"We've introduced one or two right from the start of pre-season and one or two have come in since then. Like any situation it takes time for everybody to get to know each other both on and off the field.
"I think the two or three days we had away in Aberystwyth earlier this week helped"
Meanwhile manager Graham Turner commented on one aspect of the bonding session in Bullseye. The squad played cricket on the first evening.
"Sam Gwynne and Andy Williams picked the teams with a lively encounter ensuing. Some questionable refereeing, sorry umpiring decisions, resulted in Sam's side being victorious.
"Star batsman was Danny Carey-Bertram with eight runs.
"The two French lads, whilst throwing themselves into the game, were abysmal; it has been suggested that we play petanque next time."
