Boston Five Charged With Fraud

Boston Manager Steve Evans has been charged with fraud according to BBC Radio Lincolnshire, along with their current General Manager John Blackwell, ex-Chairman Pat Malkinson, former accountant Brian James, and former bookeeper Ian Lee. The five are to appear at Bow Street Magistrates Court next Friday on charges brought by the Inland Revenue.

In July 2002 the FA found Boston United guilty of six offences regarding false player contracts and issued a £100,000 fine with four points docked. Evans was later banned for 20 months for his part and fined £8,000, Malkinson was banned for 13 months and was fined £5,250.

Boston United have stated that neither the Club, nor any of the current Board, have been charged and will make no further statement.
