Hereford United deservedly moved on to the Semi-final Northern Section of the LDV Vans Trophy with a 2-0 win over Scunthorpe United this evening.
The Bulls took the lead through Adam Stansfield early in the game and Tamika Mkandawire doubled the advantage just on half-time.
Referee Andy Woolmer didn't do his reputation too many favours when he failed to give a penalty when Stansfield was brought down in the box.
Full report shortly.
In the other games in the Northern Section, Kidderminster defeated Bradford. Macclesfield went through last week and the Tranmere/Carlisle game went to penalties with Carlisle eventually going through.
The Draw for the Semi-finals is expected to take place on Saturday. (We will confirm this). There is the prospect of a local derby between Hereford And Kidderminster.
The ties will take place in the week commencing Jan 23rd.
The Conference game between Hereford United and Cambridge United scheduled for January 24th will be moved.
Finally Halifax beat Southport 1-0 in a Trophy replay this evening which means that Hereford United will travel to the Shay for the second round tie on January 14th.
