More on Conference TV

As reported earlier Conference TV swiches to a subscription only service from today.

Charges are £4.99 per calender month or £14.99 for the remainder of the season.

Confguide is reporting that subscribers will have access to the following services:

Exclusive match highlights from the 2005/6 Nationwide Conference season.
Well over 30 minutes of footage per week.
One "Game of the week" shown in full (90 minutes)
Access to 10 LIVE webcasts, streamed directly to your computer (Subject to agreement by The Football Conference).
Interviews and special features.
Previous season's Archive.

There is a free 1 minute promo currently on the conferencefootballTV site. The quality of the footage is vastly superior to that normally available.

Confguide also reports:

Although there was some support for the "Keep Conference TV a free service" campaign (the affiliate programme in conjunction with totalbet.com) the interest generated was not sufficient to keep the service free.

The Conference season lasts from August to April, a period of 9 months. At a rate of £4.99 per month that equates to £44.91 per season. There is expected to be a discount for a "season ticket" which should bring the cost down to about £35.

It has not yet been disclosed whether clubs will receive anything from Conference TV for showing the matches. Nor have any figures been released showing whether Conference TV has had any effect on attendances.

Neither has there been any news of what will happen to those fans who supported the Conference TV affiliate programme the first of these being with totalbet.com.

Not long ago the Conference TV website reported the following:

Each time a Conference fan signs up to one of these services, money goes to support both ConferenceFootball.tv as a free service and the respective club. We can track where each registration has come from to ensure correct distribution of funds.
To make this work only 10,000 fans need to participate in the affiliate programme each month.

We will keep you regularly updated on progress made and hope to make an announcement at Christmas regarding the success of the affiliate programme.

One suggestion gathering support is that Conference TV would be more attractive to supporters if only games featuring their club, ie Hereford United, were available.

A poll asking readers about whether they would subcribe to Conference TV has been set up on the Hereford United independent forum.
