Northwich Hit Out At Ticket Costs

Northwich Chairman Mike Connett has hit out at the FA and Sunderland after adult ticket prices for their trip to the Stadium Of Light in the FA Cup were reduced to £10.

Connett wanted £20 adult tickets, while Sunderland wanted £6 with £1 concessions. Connett claims the FA decision has cost the club £200,000: "Sunderland proposed ticket prices of £6 and £1, which I said was a waste of time. I said I'd accept £20 for adults and less for concessions. The FA have ruled that the prices should be £10 and £5, which I think is a disgraceful way to treat non-League football. I believe they have cost us £200,000 by going so far below normal prices. They underestimate us, which suits us fine. I fancy us to do well there".

The prices compare sharply with Burton's televised home tie with Manchester United - £30 for a Adult seat with £25 concessions, with £25/£20 to stand.

In other news the official Altrincham website http://www.altrinchamfc.co.uk/alty1.htm reports the other Man Utd - FC United of Manchester have posted adverts in the local press for a Chief Executive and Club Secretary with salaries of £25,000 and £18,000 a year. With both posts applicants must "demonstrate experience in activity within the football supporters' movement ideally at Manchester United Football Club". The club, barely six months old, share Gigg Lane with Bury but often dwarf their landlords' attendances despite playing several rungs down the ladder.
