Smith may move to Weymouth

Former Hereford United mid-fielder Ben Smith could move to Weymouth in January.

27 year old Smith has found it difficult to keep a place in the Shrewsbury team this season and says he has attracted interest from the Terras.

"I am in and out of the team at the moment and playing in different positions when I am picked which isn't ideal," said Essex-born Smith who previously played for the Bulls.

"I am the type of player who needs to be playing regularly in what I consider my best position of central midfield and, having spoken to the manager, I don't think that's going to happen at the moment.

"I am out of contract at the end of the season and, at the moment, I wouldn't be confident of it being renewed.

"I can either wait until the end of the season when there are 600 players in the same boat or see what happens in January."
