Conference News Round-Up

Cambridge boss Rob Newman rounded on his older players, including on loan Bull Stacy Coldicott, after their 2-0 loss to Burton: "They're senior players, but if they're not good enough and they haven't got the fight for it then I'd rather put the young ones back on the pitch. They'll give you enthusiasm and honesty, and sometimes out there I think there was a lack of honesty and passing of responsibility."

Aldershot have come to terms for the release of defender Tarkan Mustafa. The 32 year old failed to settle after a move from Hornchurch, and last played for the Shots in October. Mustafa will now be able to sign for any club below Conference level, with his former Hornchurch and Dagenham boss Gary Hill now likely to make a move to bring him to Weymouth. Aldershot boss Terry Brown has told his remaining players that they are playing for their futures at the Recreation Ground.

Burton are bracing themselves for the departure of manager Nigel Clough. Notts Forest Chairman Nigel Doughty has indicated that they will wait until the summer to name their new manager, with the under contract Clough top of the list.

Gravesend are considering a name change to Ebbsfleet FC. Ebbsfleet will be the name of the Channel Tunnel rail station due to open in 2007, with over 3,000 accompanying houses also planned for the site on top of thousands of homes already built in the area.

Grays home match with Exeter has been moved from Saturday 8th April to Monday 10th April for Sky Sports coverage.
