Yesterday, Bulls News received some criticism for naming trialist Alan Jones as actually being Alan Connell.
Today, the Worcester Evening News' match report from Ludlow has confirmed that Jones was indeed Alan Connell, adding that the player had actually been released from Torquay.
The Bulls appear alone in using false names for trialists this season. Many club managers have even given interviews and in-depth details on their trialists, with many official club sites naming the trialists and several also offering interviews with the players.
Barnet openly named five trialists, including ex-Bulls loanee Nicky Nicolau and former Carlisle loan sensation Magno Silva Viera, Chester boss Mark Wright has spoken to the local press about French trialist Ismael Rhazdis and former Premiership keeper Paul Gerrard among others, while Tamworth's official site names all nine trialists currently training with the side.
While the Bulls were a Conference side the lure of the Football League was often enough to pull a trialist away from Edgar Street. But with League football, a solid financial structure guaranteeing wages will be paid on time - unlike many of our League Two rivals - and a good training regime it is hard to believe that, with players like Connell already circulated on the PFA list for some time, a club with bigger and better resources hasn't already eyed up it's targets with only three weeks left to kick-off.
