Rochdale have sold striker Rickie Lambert to Bristol Rovers for £200,000.
The sale comes after Bulls boss Graham Turner refused a £100,000 bid for Andy Williams from the Pirates.
What is more interesting is that Lambert, 24, was in the last year of his contract and was able to move for free at the end of the season. The terms of his move put the Pirates bid for Lambert, who has failed to score this season despite numerous chances, into perspective against a Bulls striker that is not on the verge of a Bosman free and has done nothing but improve over the last year.
Rochdale have, however, signed defender James Sharp. The former Torquay man was a teammate of the Bulls striker Alan Connell last season, playing 38 times for the Gulls.
