Stockport Transfers Hit By Delays

Stockport are struggling to complete their squad in time for Saturday after two transfer deals hit money snags.

Moves for full back Dean Holden from Peterborough and winger Adam Griffin from Oldham have hit trouble with both clubs expecting sizable fees for the players. Peterborough are believed to have asked for £50,000, with Oldham looking for a fee and sell on clause for the 22 year old who spent the second half of last season on loan at Stockport.

One Oldham player likely to make the move to Edgeley Park is Jason Taylor, who had a nine match loan spell at the club at the end of last season and is expected to seal a permanent deal later this week, while trialist keeper Tim Deacy, formerly of Macclesfield, is also expected to sign a deal later in the week.

Stockport have, however, signed Carlisle striker Glenn Murray on loan for a month. The 22 year old has started just 10 times for the League One newboys, but has made 46 sub appearances and scored six goals.

Meanwhile, Classic Gold Radio are reporting that 2,500 Bulls fans are expected to make the trip north on Saturday.

In other news, Boston are reported to be ditching the long ball approach for a passing game. Manager Steve Evans told reporters: "We have totally changed our style and will be more like in our Conference days. We are going to try and open teams up by passing and when we have done that in pre-season we look quite decent."
