Weymouth Chief Threatens Walkout

Weymouth chairman Martyn Harrison has threatened to walk away from the club after their second home gate was less than half their first.

A bumper 3,583 watched them beat Aldershot on a Tuesday night, but only 1,766 watched their home win over Cambridge just four days later.

Harrison told the Dorset Echo: "I don't know why I bother. To only get a crowd of just of just over 1,700 when we're top of the Conference is disgraceful. It baffles me what we have to do to get the support of the people of Weymouth.

"I'm grateful to those who do support us financially and through other ways, but if the rest of the town can't be bothered, I don't see why I should either and the club will have to find someone else to pay the wages."

Harrison has ploughed over £2million into the club already and is believed to be subsidising a substantial loss this season. He has financed the signings of several high profile players and has made no secret of his desire to see League football at the club.
