Graham Turner has acknowledged that prices for children to watch games at Edgar Street may be too high.
In his weekly interview with Jon Wells (full interview on the Official Site), Turner reminded supporters that children could buy tickets for League games at cheaper prices.
Wells suggested that Turner would be looking for an improved attendance next Tuesday when Wycombe are the visitors to Edgar Street.
"I would like to think so. What the column in the Hereford Times has done is to produce one or two replies that maybe the price for children is a little bit expensive but people can buy tickets up to the day prior to the match - I think it is £7 to sit and £6 to stand for kids. They haven't got to pay the £12 that would be the normal price if they leave it to the day."
Turner then explained how the club would try to help with childrens tickets.
"They will be able to do that through our website fairly shortly - once some changes are up and running. For those who have to travel some distance, they need not come into the club, they can do it through the website, then pick the tickets up on match days.
"I think it has been disappointing that we haven't topped three thousand of our own supporters for any of our home matches and that includes the very attractive one against Coventry.
"So obviously we are hoping it will improve. We've also had a holiday period - kids have been away from school and a lot of families take holidays through August. Again that might have been an influence on quite a number of people.
"So we're hoping over the next few home matches that the situation will improve.
Wells reminded Turner that there are three homes matches in a week.
"I'm aware that can be quite expensive for non-season tickets holders. There is that, not sympathy, but obvious recognition that it can be expensive to watch football.
"But we beleive we are amongst the very lowest price-wise in the Football League and if we are going to compete in there we have got to get sufficient income through the turnstiles to be able to compete.
"It was inevitable that prices would go up. But I'm aware over three home matches it will be expensive.
"If we can get into the three and a half/four thousand we would be very well pleased with that."
