Please support this good cause

Much of this article first appeared in the Hereford Times.

ROB Powell is preparing to ride more than 1,500 miles in three weeks, visiting all the league two and premiership football grounds.

The 54-year-old farmer from Bolstone is a keen Hereford United supporter and fund raiser for the Multiple Sclerosis Society as his wife Eunice suffers from the condition.

"I attended my first Hereford game with Eunice when we were engaged back in 1972. It was the memorable match in which they beat Newcastle United in the FA Cup and I have supported the club ever since," said Rob.

"Eunice was diagnosed with MS in 2000 and is now in a wheelchair. I am chairman of the local MSS branch and have raised money for the cause in the past."

His previous exploits include running in the London Marathon twice, the New York Marathon and by cycling from Land's End to John o Groats.

During his ride Rob will stay with friends and at bed and breakfast. He begins by cycling to Cheltenham and Swindon on November 15 and finishes on December 9 when he returns to Hereford for the Bulls game with Torquay United.

Anyone wishing to sponsor Rob can visit www.justgiving.com/backtotheleague

Every pound and penny donated will go to the Hereford and District Branch of the MS Society to support members and their new MS nurse Del Thomas who was appointed in September.
