The top two in the Conference last season meet in the Football League for the first time at Edgar Street on Saturday.
Stanley have never beaten the Bulls on their travels. In four trips to Edgar Street, a pair of draws in their last two visits is the best they've managed. The last visit, in March this year, saw a late Bulls comeback from 2-0 down to a 2-2 draw after Stanley were reduced to 10 men. The dismissal led manager John Coleman into a foul mouthed tirade at anyone that got in his way at the final whistle.
The Bulls home form has largely been responsible for the respectable league position they find themselves in after almost one third of the season. The only two home defeats have come from clubs currently sitting second and fourth in the division and the support has been bouyed by a resounding away win over MK Dons last week.
Stanley have coped well with the step up after an initial struggle saw them at the wrong end of the table. They now lie 9th, level on points with the Bulls, but have won just once on their travels and suffering from a leakier defence on the road. Their last away match was a 2-0 win at Torquay but they've lost star player Gary Roberts, who scored the second that day, since that game and the loss of the eight goal top scorer will hit them hard.
Hereford United vs Accrington Stanley, Edgar Street, Saturday October 28th, 3.00pm.
