Hereford United created several useful chances in the second half this afternoon but once again poor finishing let them down.
Richard Rose, interviewed by Keith Hall for BBC Hereford and Worcester, alluded to the fact.
"I thought the way we started the second half we looked like scoring. It was just the fact of getting an early goal so we could go on and try and get a second which we tried to do but didn't come.
"We had enough chances to get one or even two.
"Fleets and Andy worked so hard through the whole game. They were getting on top of the defence, running at them and they didn't really know what to do with them. It's handy to have lads who are still going to run in the last fifteen minutes."
Meanwhile the attendance this afternoon was 2838 with 143 from Darlington, some 133 more than at the last home game. It is difficult to say with any accuracy whether the free child scheme upped the gate, the signing of John Eustace improved the numbers or a combination of the two contributed to the slightly higher gate.
