Grimsby Town have appointed Alan Buckley to the managers post for the third time.
Buckley has already enjoyed two spells as manager of the club, totalling nearly 10 years of service. He first became boss in 1988 to 1994, leaving for West Brom, then again in 1997 until 2000, amassing over 500 games at the helm of the club. He has been out of management since the end of 2003 after a short spell at Rochdale.
Meanwhile, Scunthorpe caretaker boss Nigel Adkins is hoping to get the job on a full time basis. Physio Adkins told BBC Radio: "I am enjoying looking after the team and feel I have the skills and qualities need to run this football club." Should Scunthorpe appoint from within, it is likely to increase Bulls loanee Neil Mackenzie's departure from the Iron with the coaching staff usually having the same metality of the departed manager.
