League Two Results Round-Up

Boston's rallying cry for their supporters to turn out in force yesterday fell on deaf ears as just 1,706 turned up at York Street to see the team turn in their best performance of the season as they beat Wrexham 4-0, moving the Pilgrims out of the relegation zone for the first time in two months and leaving Torquay in their place.

Macclesfield also won, their first back-to-back league wins in just under 12 months, as they beat Notts County 2-1 to move within seven points of safety. County have now lost three on the trot and slip down to eighth. Rochdale are level on points with Boston and Torquay at the wrong end of the division as they lost at home to Peterboro 1-0.

Accrington are just one point off the drop zone, and their crowds are fading fast, as just 1,384 watched 10 man Stanley lose 4-3 to MK Dons. Stanley's only wins in the last 12 games have come as the result of penalty shootouts in the Johnstones Paint Trophy.

At the top, Walsall's relentless march towards the title finally took a step back as they lost 2-0 at home to Swindon - their first loss in 14 league matches. Swindon move up to second after Lincoln lost 4-1 at Chester, who have scored 15 goals in their last four games.

With Wycombe drawing 1-1 with Barnet, Walsall are seven points clear with the next five seperated by just two points. Six points seperate sixth and seventh places, with Hartlepool leading the pack for the last play-off spot after their 2-0 win over Bristol Rovers. The Pools are three points, and five places, ahead of the Bulls.

Shrewsbury lost 2-1 at Grimsby, the teams are 15th and 16th respectively, and Stockport beat Darlington 5-2 to move up to 10th. Bury beat Mansfield 2-0 to move up to 11th.
