Torquay travel to Edgar Street on Saturday looking to end a run of 11 league games without a win - but they haven't won a league match at Edgar Street since 1983.
Aside from a single FA Cup victory over non-league Leatherhead, Torquay have not won a game since September 16th - a 1-0 win over Mansfield. In games against the Bulls, Torquay have failed to win in each of the last 14 league visits, although they did triumph in one of three League Cup ties in the early '90's.
The Bulls are clearly looking for three points from the game after stating their intention to get at least four points out of this week's games and a strong performance against Peterboro will give them confidence against a side that sits one place off the relegation spots in League Two. With John Eustace's loan up at the end of the match, Graham Turner will spend the rest of this week badgering Stoke for a further month and with the likes of Martyn Giles back in contention there is little to worry Turner on the injury front.
The Gulls hope new manager Lubos Kubik will be able to inject something into their ailing season, but a few of the players may not quite get the message from the one time Czech international. Kubik's command of the English language is not the greatest and the stated intention of bringing in a string of Eastern Europe players in January has not gone down too well amongst the existing players. Kubik has managed two draws out of his first two games. The side relies heavily on the goals of ex-Villa youngster Jamie Ward, but the Gulls recently went eight league games without scoring and desperately need support for the inexperienced striker.
Hereford United vs Torquay United, Saturday December 9th, 3.00pm, Edgar Street.
