Results Round-Up

In today's only League Two game, Shrewsbury held the lead three times but eventually had to settle for a point in a 3-3 draw at Accrington, watched by just 1,602. It's Accrington's first point in seven league games, they haven't won in 90 minutes in 12 games overall, and lifts them up three places to 17th.

In the FA Cup, Barnet joined the Bulls in a result to savour after beating Northampton 4-1. Wrexham are also unlikely 'giantkillers' after Scunthorpe were dumped out 2-0 (freeing Neil Mackenzie to be cup tied in the next round?), while Bristol Rovers need a replay after drawing 1-1 with Bournemouth. Bury and Chester drew 2-2, with Lee Steele scoring twice and then being sent off while celebrating the latter. Darlington lost at home to Swansea, 3-1.

Macclesfield wish it was the FA Cup every week, winning two out of three FA Cup ties this season as they beat Hartlepool 2-1 although it took a dismissal to turn the game in favour of the Silkmen. Mansfield thought they'd earned a League One scalp until a last minute equaliser gave Doncaster a 1-1 draw. Swindon overcame a stubborn Morecambe with an 89th minute penalty winner for the only goal of the game.

Torquay, under new management, drew 1-1 with Leyton Orient and Peterboro, visitors to Edgar Street on Tuesday, despatched League One Tranmere 2-1. MK Dons lost 2-0 at home to Blackpool.

Of the Conference sides, Tamworth are through after beating Rushden 2-1 and Aldershot have a replay at Basingstoke after a John Grant goal gave them a 1-1 draw. Stafford crashed out 3-0 at Brighton

Tomorrow, Bristol City entertain Gillingham at 1pm while Salisbury take on Nottm Forest in the BBC1 game which precedes the draw for the Third Round.
