Stockport County have issued an official apology after several fans were observed throwing... paper aeroplanes!
The club had issued paper sheets as a 'welcome home' to former manager Danny Begara, who was guest of honour for today's game. However, they were soon unleashed into wave after wave of 80gsm photocopied terror.
The club statement concludes: "It was a silly gesture by some of our fans to throw the paper around and we apologise to anyone who suffered from this behaviour. We will not be allowing the use of paper or cards again in the future."
Following on from the ban on paper, Stockport County will print their next matchday programme on stone tablets. Or maybe not.
