Shrewsbury Town have agreed with the FA that they were involved in a brawl at the end of their recent game with Chester City. They have asked for 'a personal hearing to discuss the matter further'.
Shrewsbury Town secretary John Howarth told his Official Website:
"Both clubs have been charged with failing to ensure that their players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion.
"The FA obviously feels that there is guilt on both sides and both clubs have pleaded to the mitigation
"It's difficult to determine and identify who was involved in an incident which lasted just 45 seconds.
"Obviously we have looked at the incident very carefully and we have raised several points that we will put forward when we attend the hearing."
Meanwhile Shrewsbury will have the local fire brigade at the Gay Meadow on Thursday to pump out any water left on the pitch in the hope that the game against Hereford United can be played on Saturday. Although there is less water on the pitch this morning the river Severn is expected to peak close-by this afternoon.
As at lunchtime today, it's raining again over much of the Severn catchment area. Radar images show some very heavy rain in some areas.
