Notts County have confirmed the permanent transfer of Southend's Jay Smith after a loan spell. It was initially reported that the extension was a loan not a permanent deal.
Bury are watching the FA's investigation of West Ham eagerly. The Hammers are believed to have played Carlos Tevez in their recent FA Cup win over Brighton without holding the correct ownership of the player, making him ineligible. The situation is similar to that which saw Bury booted out of the FA Cup earlier in the season.
Torquay have appointed Keith Curle as coach until the end of the season. The former Mansfield manager played for Torquay during the 1983/4 season. Boston have denied that former Bradford chairman Geoffrey Richmond is part of the consortium planning to take over the club. Richmond was declared bankrupt in 2004 shortly after leaving as an advisor to Leeds.
