Chester have nothing to fear about any of the other clubs in the division, according to chairman Stephen Vaughan.
Vaughan told the Chester Daily Post: "While we respect everybody in our division, we certainly don't fear anyone, and I am sure that we can reach the play-off competition in May. We have a game in hand on the teams who currently occupy the play-off places, and I am confident that we can break our way into the top seven in our division.
"We have sold two of our strikers in the past couple of weeks, but already we have utilised the money we received for Greg Blundell to finance the transfer of Simon Yeo from Peterborough United, and I will continue to finance our push for the promotion prize. We will invest money in further boosting our squad. The transfer window is closed but we have made enquiries about bringing players into the club on loan, and there could well be developments in the next week or so."
Chester have won only one of the last four games, and currently lie nine points adrift of the play-offs. Chester have also reported that midfielder Jamie Hand will miss Saturday's match after collecting his tenth booking of the season.
