While the transfer may have been done on paper, Peterboro are still awaiting the arrival of new signing Craig Mackail-Smith.
The now former Dagenham forward agreed to a £125,000 transfer to London Road in December, with the deal to be completed on Monday, but was recently reported to be unhappy with the move. After threats of legal action by Peterboro Mackail-Smith finally signed on for The Posh yesterday, but has failed to turn up for training so far.
A brief statement on their official site says Mackail-Smith is absent due to 'personal mitigating circumstances', believed to be a family illness, but Barry Fry has accused the player's agent, Robert Codner, for the predicament:
"Craig has received some pretty bad advice on his future in recent weeks, but the deal is binding in a court of law and if he doesn't come we would sue him and his agent for breach of contract."
Mackail-Smith has signed a four and a half year deal at London Road arriving with Dagenham team mate Shane Blackett, who was a sub against Swindon on Tuesday night.
