Former Bulls loan player Brian 'Junior' Smikle, now at Kidderminster, has been told that he has a big part to play in their unlikely promotion push.
Manager Mark Yates has built a solid team, and the permanent acquisition of James Constable from Walsall for £20,000 should give them a good chance of a play-off spot. But the manager had special praise for Smikle:
"Junior never, ever let's you down and he was excellent against Exeter and was perhaps a little unfortunate to have been left out of the next game against York, but I know what I'm going to get with Brian Smikle, and he was superb for us again against Altrincham and he can have a big part to play in our season, all of the lads are really working hard at the moment.
"Brian brings pace, energy and enthusiasm to the team and a great desire to win, we've got a winning mentality at the moment and we need to keep that up. We've always got to be the challengers and not think we've arrived anywhere just because we're on a decent run, all of the players are working to keep it up."
Smikle has started just nine of thirty games this season, but weighed in with his first goal in last week's win at Altrincham.
