Turner attends meeting of the planners

Last week Graham Turner attended a meeting of most of those involved with the Edgar Street Grid.

The Hereford United manager said that the meeting, which was attended by architects, consultants, developers, planners and Johnathan Bretherton, chief executive of the ESG, had gone 'as well as I could have hoped'.

Turner told the Hereford Times that he hoped his 'optimism will not be displaced'.

"We would dearly love to see the first part of the Edgar Street Development taking place at the football ground, providing the facility that is much needed and giving our supporters new areas of the ground that benefit the modern era."

The paper also reports that plans for the area are coming together.

'More than 1,000 homes will eventually be built on a site stretching from the northern end of the Merton Meadow car park.'

The ESG draft master plan will be published this summer.
