Disappointing result says Connell

Everyone is very down after this afternoon's defeat at Edgar Street according to Alan Connell who has spoken to BBC Hereford and Worcester.

"We didn't expect to lose today. We didn't play that well but we still had chances to score at least one goal.

"They came and played 4-5-1.

"In the second half we picked it up and without playing our passing 'best' we had quite a few chances and should have scored. I was guilty on one or two occasions of missing.

"We had scrambles and were unlucky with the disallowed goal. There was nothing wrong with it. Very disappointing."

Meanwhile Grimsby manager Alan Buckley was pleased with the three points.

"I thought we started really well, passed it well, retained possession for long periods and I thought that we were probably worth a half-time lead.

"Obviously when you've got experience in the dressing room like Graham Turner, you know that they are going to change it and shake themselves up. We were aware of that.

"I thought they came at us a little bit more in the second half. We rode our luck a couple of time with corners.

"We scored a magnificent goal, from a bad angle, a fantastic finish. I think we were well worth the three points in the end."
