Thomas Returns To Shrews

Bulls midfielder Danny Thomas has returned to Shrewsbury to bolster their play-off push.

The non-contract midfielder had his registration retained by Shrewsbury on his release from the club, preventing the Bulls from making a permanent deal for the winger until their rights expired on June 30th, the traditional date for Football League contracts to expire.

The Bulls could play the non-contract player under EU employment laws, allowing uncontracted players to earn a living despite another club holding his registration under Football League rules, but the Shrews retained rights over the player and re-activated his contract by paying up the percentage of the original deal that was waived under the settlement terms.

Thomas played nine times in his spell at the Bulls, scoring twice. He was also named in the Football League team of the week during his stay.
