Craig Bellamy has helped Wrexham in their fight against relegation from League Two. The Liverpool striker has a 'very generous donation' to the North Wales club which has helped them sign three players.
"Being a proud Welshman and supporter of Welsh football, I think it's important that Wrexham retain their place in The Football League," Bellamy told the Western Mail.
"As such, I hope this gesture can help.
"I have a lot of friends playing at the club and have enjoyed some memorable times at The Racecourse.
"I have a soft spot for the club and I wish them the very best in their battle to remain in the League.
"We only have three Football League clubs in Wales as it is. For the sake of Welsh football and its future, it is imperative we don't lose one of those clubs."
Yesterday Wrexham drew 0-0 with Mansfield and face a tough fight to avoid the drop.
