Boston will need a final day win at Wrexham to stay up after they only managed a 1-1 draw with already doomed Torquay. The visitors to York Street, with the gate up 1,000 on the previous effort, were reduced to 10 men but still took the lead.
Accrington's win over Macclesfield 3-2 means Stanley will see League Two football next season, but Macclesfield need a point from their final game at home to Notts County to assure safety. Bury drew 0-0 with Stockport to earn safety, while Mansfield beat Barnet 2-1 - with the exiting Barry Conlon scoring - to extinguish any doubts of safety.
At the top, Swindon's loss 1-0 to Bristol Rovers means they still need a point to earn the third automatic promotion spot after MK Dons' 2-0 win over Wycombe kept them within three points of the Robins. Walsall are in the driving seat for the title after their 1-0 win over Wrexham. They now only need to match Hartlepool's final day result to clinch the title after Pools' 2-0 loss at Rochdale that saw three sent off in four minutes.
Only MK Dons are still assured of a play-off spot, with four fighting for the final three places. Lincoln drew 0-0 with Grimsby to pretty much secure their spot, with Bristol Rovers leapfrogging Stockport into the last place.
In other matches Chester drew 1-1 with Peterboro, ending the Posh's play-off hopes, and Darlington beat Notts County 1-0.
