As well as talking about new contracts (see earlier article) Graham Turner also spoke about the game against Shrewsbury in his post match press conference last Saturday.
"It was the last thing we wanted to finish our home season like this," said the Hereford United manager.
"You never want to lose at home but it hurts that much more when it's against local rivals.
"It wasn't for the lack of effort but we lacked that bit of sharpness in the Shrewsbury box.
"It's too easy and flippant to say we need better goal scorers. The players we have got, Alan Connell and Andy Williams, when they are on song can score goals.
"I just don't know the reason why we failed not just today but in so many games in the latter part of the season.
"It's the last third of the season. If we had a poor start and a good middle and finished strongly, everybody would have accepted that.
"But to finish poorly that sticks in people's minds in the closed season."
