Evans Quits Boston

Steve Evans and assistant Paul Raynor have quit their jobs at relegated Boston United.

The club had not paid either of them, or any of the staff, for over three months and the pair have decided to move on, according to a statement on the club's website, for the sake of their families.

Evans had claimed to have lent the club money in the past. Although he did not appear in the club's creditors list a company believed to be linked to Evans was on the list.

Evans managed the club for over 300 games in total, taking them from the Ryman League to the Football League. His two spells in charge were seperated by a 20 month ban for illegal payments to players. He was linked to the Chester job earlier in the month, but was believed to have turned down the opportunity after massive opposition from Chester fans.
