The Football League recorded its highest admission figures for 47 years during the 2006/07 season.
More than 16.4million fans saw League football this season, with the Championship being the 4th best supported league in Europe with over 10million through the turnstiles. Over 2.2million saw League Two football, down 1.5% on the previous season but still a higher average attendance that the Dutch second tier and all third teir leagues in Europe.
