Shrewsbury to play Bristol Rovers at Wembley

Shrewsbury Town will play Bristol Rovers in the League Two play-off final at Wembley.

Town defeated MK Dons 2-1 this evening in their second-leg semi-final game. The teams draw 0-0 at the Gay Meadow in the first leg.

Meanwhile another West Country team could get to Wembley. Yeovil's League One playoff game against Blackpool has gone to extra-time.

UPDATE 10.15pm: Yeovil will meet either Blackpool or Oldham at Wembley. The Somerset team defeated Notts Forest 5-2 this evening after losing the first leg 2-0.

It must be a record that so many 'western' based teams, Shrewsbury, Bristol Rovers and Yeovil, are in the play-off finals.

And whilst Yeovil aren't there just yet, who would have thought at the start of the season that they might swap places with Leeds United?
