Three less local derbies next season

Whatever the result of the League Two play-off final, there will be three less local derbies for Hereford United next season.

Already the Bulls have lost two money-spinning home games with both Swindon and Walsall gaining automatic promotion to League One.

Now with either Bristol Rovers or Shrewsbury Town moving up a League, another 'local' game will not take place.

The 'new' teams in League Two for next season are, from League One, Chesterfield, Bradford, Rotherham and Brentford. None of these sides are expected to bring large numbers of supporters to Edgar Street.

From the Conference, Dagenham and Redbridge are another side unlikely to bring many fans with them. However should Exeter defeat Morecambe in the Conference play-off final, the Grecians should bring a decent following to Edgar Street whereas Morecambe probably will not.

In essence because of the different teams in League Two next season the Bulls could lose gate receipts of around £25,000. That income has to be made up somewhere else or costs pruned.
