News Round Up

Halifax have been slapped with another winding up petition. Former chairman Raymond Moreland has issued the petition to be heard in Manchester on March 17th. The club are to make a statement later. Their protracted takeover is now nearly 18 months in the works, and still shows no sign of completion.

Peterboro keeper Joe Lewis is attracting the attention of several of the Premiership heavyweights. Man Utd and Liverpool have sent scouts to recent matches to watch the 20 year old who has played just ten games since his £400,000 transfer. Mansfield have extended the loan of Will Atkinson from Hull for a second month.

West Brom have told striker Craig Beattie he can leave following Luke Moore's arrival. The move suggests that manager Tony Mowbray is happy with his four strikers that remain with the club and will not need Sherjill Macdonald back too soon. Dagenham have loaned Marlon Patterson to Grays for a month. He has played just six times since arriving in the summer.

Bury director Iain Mills has quit the club after complaints over his preference to wear shorts to games. Barnet are trying to land former MK Dons striker Izale McLeod on loan. He scored 25 times last season before a £1.1million move to Charlton brought only two League starts and one goal this season.

Darlington have signed full back Ben Parker from Leeds on a months loan. The 20 year old was part of the Leeds side beaten by the Bulls in November. Boston are to hold talks with the Football League and Inland Revenue in a bid to save their CVA. The FL are retaining their payments for last season to pay off football creditors in full, in breach of a clause inserted by the IR into the club's CVA.
